  • Do we need to provide anything for you on the day?
While it's not a contractual requirement, we would appreciate it if you could provide food and soft drinks for the band members to keep us energised and hydrated throughout the event. The band will require 3 parking spaces as close to the venue as possible.
  • How much do you charge, and do you require a deposit?
Our pricing varies depending on several factors but typically ranges from £799 to £1199. A non-refundable management fee is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due 28 days before the event.
  • Are you completely self-contained?
Yes, we bring with us a PA system, microphones, instruments, backline and lighting. We only require a minimum of two 13-amp plug sockets (UK standard) as close to the performance area as possible. These sockets should be dedicated and not shared with other suppliers.
  • Can we use your PA system for speeches?
With our standard arrival time being 6 pm, we usually find that speeches have finished by this point. However, if you need to use the band’s PA system, we can arrange this for a small fee.
  • What happens if a band member cannot make it?
In the unlikely event of illness or unforeseen circumstances, we have a pool of musicians who are of similar standard and accustomed to playing with one another.
  • How far in advance should we book your band?
To ensure availability, especially for popular wedding dates, we recommend booking as early as possible, ideally 12-18 months in advance.
  • What areas of the UK do you cover?
Our coverage is limited to the South West of England, specifically Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, and Dorset.
  • How much space do you need?
We typically need a performance area of about 4m x 3m (13ft x 10ft). Additionally, we require a flat, hard surface to play on, to ensure the safety and stability of our equipment.
  • Can we choose the live setlist?
Given our extensive experience in the wedding and events industry, we understand what works and what doesn’t. Therefore, selecting the setlist is not an option we offer.
  • Do you offer any additional services?
Yes, we offer several additional services. These include an acoustic performance in the afternoon, the option to add a female singer to your booking, and the ability to extend the live section of the evening to 2.5 hours. Please visit our Extras page for more details.
  • Do you have insurance, and is your equipment PAT-tested?
Yes, we carry Public Liability Insurance (PLI), and all of our equipment undergoes Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) to ensure safety and compliance. Many venues require suppliers to provide this certification.
  • Our venue has a sound limiter; does that pose an issue?
Something Borrowed are committed to following the sound regulations of each venue and ensuring a satisfactory experience for both the venue staff and the audience. Our average sound level is approximately 97 decibels, which is typical for a live band. Any potential sound issues, such as the use of a limiter, will be discussed and clarified with the venue before the performance.
